8274 rebuild

Hi all

I have took my 8274 apart for a Refurb. Now most of I took pics off. Before I took it a part. But have no pics of certain bits or can't tell by the pics so first up is the front and back of the brake assembly which plate is which ? One has flat centre section one sticks up.

Also inside the brake assembly there is the big gear one closest the brake on the outside if the case which way round should this go ?

Last in my rebuilt kit I got there is no cardboard washer so how is the best way to get the copper bush and seal on the break assembly ?

There are a lot of rebuild threads/videos' available that should get you pointed in the right direction. Google 8274 rebuild, and you'll find some good video's. You can also do a search on this forum and find some awesome threads with all the pics and descriptions you'll need.

Cheers it all back tougher now, just got to wait for next month to try it out as when I bench test it the brake ratchet does not spin with the rest of the brake gear ? In either direction. But have spoke to gigglepin UK and they have said intill the winch is under load it won't ? Have suggested once in truck to winch over a branch and pull front end up and then come of winch switch and see if it hold if it does all is good if not I have an issue ?
