8274 rebuild questions. (1 Viewer)

Just a couple of quick questions about my 8274.
Has anyone seen this wear before and what might have caused it?

Also, when I pulled the motor off, one of these fibre washers came out in pieces, there is still one left on the end of the rotor.
Do I need a replacement, if so, where do I get one.

It looks to me like the large side of the intermediate gear was rubbing against the shoulder of that drum gear. Check the intermediate gear for wear along one side of the teeth. If the lock-plate was not secured down all the way the drum gear could have walked deeper into the case and rubbed up against the intermediate gear. [Three Willys]

I'm confused! Rebuilding an 8274 and am trying to reinstall the intermediate gear (big gear on left side of case connected to brake shaft). Several photos on these blogs show large shoulder side of gear going to left (brake) side & several show going right (drum side).
Any thoughts?
