G'day all from a new bloke who is making his first post!
I have recently bought myself a 82 HJ60 Lancruiser, has the 2H diesel with an aftermarket Turbo kit on it. But there are a few things that don't add up. For starters the accelerator butterfly and venturi is setup before the turbo, now I am not a turbo expert, but in "normal" not WOT circumstances wouldn't this block decent airflow to the trurbo and prevent it from making boost? Wouldn't it also create a vacume inside of the turbo and possibly pull oil back through the turbo seals? The reason I ask this is because the turbo does not make boost untill 2500RPM 3-4PSI and then will only do this when you are driving it flat foot, push the revs even further and the boost creeps up to 5PSI @ 3000RPM and then tops ot at 9 at 3800-4000RPM, Not the way I would like to drive my 2H. Also if this is setup incorrect would it cause a loss of power? See the pic's attached.
I am planning to move the butterfly back to it's orginal position after the turbo. One would assume that everything would still work OK?
