I'm chasing electrical issues with my radio.

While I had the glove box out I was going to just replace the light from my stash of leds.

But when I pulled it, it's a bulb I don't recognize.

Googling I saw this, so maybe I've got a later glove box swapped in?

Used Glove Box Light - FJ62 1987-1990 - https://cruisercorps.com/products/used-glove-box-light

How do I replace this bulb? I can't even get it out of the housing.

Is there a modern led replacement!?

This looks like something you could make a modern socket to swap in with a 3d printer.

Thanks,

E-

has all the LED replacement numbers here

That lists a type 74 bulb, which is what I expected, but it not that, it's like the later bulb fixture in the link. The bulb appears not to be removable from the plastic cone.

Okay,

This is a bulb and you can pull it, you just have to get some tape on your pliers jaws for soft grip pull it that way.... Your fingers are never going to pull it out.

It is a type 74 or t5 bulb. like these

Amazon product ASIN B07L8F8LTM

Everywhere I look I see this light assembly without a lens. I recall it once having a lens/cover over it. I’ve recently replaced the bulb and would love to source a replacement lens or am I searching for the holy grail?

That looks so good…..
There is a dude on ih8mud selling these reproduction glove box inserts out of steel. I literally just stuck on a led strip from amazon to the top haha. Kinda wish i went with warm white instead of cool white

Agreed, that looks bad ass..
