Is there anyone who knows about any side window panels and a roof for sale? Im restoring a Troopy and the panels are toast. Sadly so is the rest of the body but im buying an aluminum tub and ive already got new fenders, bib, aprons, and doors.

This is the project.

Troopster, isnt your troopy a late edition 1984 model?
I believe you have to look for pre 1984 rear window panels and roof..

These are the ID plates that came with it but im not sure they are correct. The Australian ID certification plate says 81 but the transport department of queensland plate says 89 AND its registered as an 85. Its a little confusing.

The plate that is in the center of the 3 is the one that comes original on the HJ (Toyota Motor Co.) from Japan..
Your troopy is a 1981 production vehicle.

Some countries don't look at the production date when registering a car, they look at the year the vehicle entered the country, for example your HJ got imported into Australia in 1985 so the government put a plate stating that this car is a 1985 car..

you will need pre 1984 parts..

ToyoDIY.com.. go here and put in your vin number..

Good Luck..

Just to clarify a bit further. Your truck is a 1981 model. I doubt it sat in Japan for four years and was shipped once the HJ75 was released in December 1984. How did you arrive at 1985? Was it the rego sticker on the windscreen? Also, disregard that blue plate. That's a modification plate for a tow bar! Because we Aussies live in a nanny state. The date on that is the date the vehicle was modified ie. 1989.

Regarding your troopy sides I know a guy who sells 40 series parts, but he's here in Aus. Want me to put you in touch?

this is a little old, but was looking for replacement aftermarket troopy walls and stumbled on this. I'm a little confused about what's being said here. they stoped making this truck altogether(aside from in Brazil) in 85/84... so its not possible to find parts after 84/85 cause they didn't make any new models? no? and as far as people being concerned with what year his troopy is... I was under the pretty solid understanding that all the body parts from any 40 all fit together? how do any of the walls, window frames or doors differ from year to year? didn't think it was possible to get the wrong walls till reading this. can someone confirm that there are different years of walls and window frames etc?
