Was not planning my first post to be selling my 40, but here goes:
I have owned this 1981 FJ40 for about a year. I know I've got a rare rig here and don't really want to part with it but cash is tight. I apologize for the fluff, you guys all know your stuff on TLC's, so some info goes without saying.
I am asking $14,900 but would consider trade plus cash. I am also Flexible on the price right now if I can move her fast (so please feel free to make offer).

1981 Toyota FJ40..Nearly Rust Free..Clean Rig
- 164k miles
- All original except wheels
- Perfect upholstery
- Leaks no oil
- 5 brand new Yokohama Geolander tires
- Bullet-proof 3000lb Warn winch and Warn Hubs
- Sony Sattelite-ready CD w/speakers
- Tow bar bumper
- Rare original Toyota factory mats
- Bikini top
- Soft ride suspension lift comparable to Old Man Emu with Doesctech shocks
- Original oem Steering wheel ( nice Grant stering wheel installed presently)
- Oem center council. Comes with $275. conferlocking center council with arm
rest and drink holders
- Newer exhaust
- New rear main oil seal
- New clutch and master cylinder,radiator
- All oem smog installed and working perfectly
- Original rubber full floor mat - Original factory bottle jack
The only rust to speak of on this truck is at the base of all 4 doors. Though it
is significant in these locations it is not beyond repair and is relatively
minor considering the vehicle and year. Any other rust spots were treated long
ago making the other known trouble spots on these trucks a non-issue.
Only other issues:
Some JackA$$ drilled multiple holes in the roof for a light bar or something in the past. They have been sealed. Driver's side floor has a rubber mat rhino'd to the floor (not sure who or why) but looking closely underneath shows no rust being covered up.
Mechanically sound with no leaks. Recent full tune up with all OEM.
Paint is original, can see where factory pinstripping was removed. Paint is shiny in most spots. Has some dark spots where rust was begining to form but was sanded and treated
I love this truck.....she will never die even if left as is. It would be an
awesome resto project and would come out incredible but I simply don't have the
time or money and have to have more space for the family. Please feel free
