So have a 81 bj42 that I have been working on for some time. I did not hook up turbo or any of the lines, bought this as a project. Attempted to start for the first time today and noticed oil leaking out of vacuum reservoir on driver side. Pulled the bottom rubber line from alternator and it is blowing oil out. Does the oil lines look correct to you guys? Bad seal in alternator?

It's possible that you've mistaken the oil return line from the vacuum pump for the vacuum low pressure line. Here's what I identified last time I touched an HJ47 alternator.. I have seen a few different arrangements of ports though so tread carefully.

Also.. sweet looking engine bay! Well done.

So 1 is vacuum 3 is feed and 2 is return?
I think you have this right.. but like I said, I've seen some different arrangements on some alternators.

Mines a 13b but looks like same filter block - #2 is oil feed for alternator, #1 is low pressure return to crankcase. Better check your booster is not full of oil now. And #3 is my oil pressure sender - is this a factory 3bt or aftermarket?

Aftermarket. Thankfully there was no plug in the reservoir so I noticed all of the oil leaking out when I started rig. I seem to just have a dirty vacuum line and oily vacuum tank.

Crazy but I blew air on one hole and it came out the other. I assume this is the oil intake and return lines. The hole that I blew in didn’t do anything so I assume that is the vacuum hole. Yes I realize how that sounds as I type this but yall know what I mean. Let the roast begin. 🤣

Haha, we've all done stuff like this. It's so hard to guard against making assumptions about how something goes together.
