My brother wants a LC. Cant decide, Miles being the same I cant say, 80 or 100 series?

Drive them both and and then decide. Basically all boils down to...
100 is by newer and probably has lower miles
80 is older and probably cheaper
100 has an awesome V8 not looks to be extremely reliable
80 has a very dependable I6 that is extremely reliable
100 has an IFS for smooth onroad handling
80 has a solid front axle with some off-road advantages
100 will have a leather interior
80 may have a leather interior
80 is slightly smaller than 100
Both better than a Touareg. Oh and don't forget to consider the Lexus twins both 80 and 100. They may end up being the best deal for you.

- 80 better-suited ($ and mechs) for more offroading
- 100 better-suited (mechs and comfort) for onroading.
If hardcore offorading and $ are not major issues, 100 probably better allaround.
