Hi all, does anyone know how to identify the differences between a 24v and 12 v starter for the LC 80? I have got one from eblag and apart from it not working the data label has 'fallen' off. I was assured this was a 12v version in working order and it is not. I stripped it down and the inside was toast however, it has a four brush system which I think indicates 24v as oppossed to the normal 2 brush 12v brush ring? I woud assume the armature is wired for 24v to go with the 4 brushes but as I normally just replace the solenoid contacts I have never had to open the main starter before.

Any pics of your own 12v/24v versions stripped down? I will copy this over the 80 tech forum as well.

many thanks

regards

Thanks for that Denis. I have spent a few hours today number crunching and pic checking, it seems the 12v along with the 24v have the same 4 brushes. The 12v unit is certainly a little obscure when it comes to data ect.

regards

Dave
