Hi all, so am I right in saying that 80 series front spring will fit straight into the rear of a kzj78 of 70 for that matter.

If so which one spring numbers do I need?

Thanks

Yes they fit... but.... I have them in my KZJ78... they are OME ones rated at 220lbs... and are way too stiff.....Not sure what std factory coils would be like....

The standard springs are 160Ib on the front and 170Ib on t he rear, ome kit is 220Ib +40mm front and 240Ib +40mm rear.

I've just ordered front 80 springs which are 220Ib but +90mm

That sounds like what I have got... To be brutally honest they are too hard for our trucks..
Gives a great lift but off road it gets a little tippy and bouncy..
Also I have been told when on road driving it looked like my truck was trying to lift a rear wheel when cornering...
I have had a guts full and dropping back to something softer...
I have tried all sorts of shocks too... and most are just that bit too short or too long.
I ended up getting some shocks for a Nissan (cant remember what) and changed the top mount from a pin to an eye...(welder job)

I'm only putting mine in for big trips, I'm off to the top of Sweden on 3rd jan and have lots to carry for our 2 week trip and I've also moved my batteries into the boot to help with cold starting. And might even take the roof tent!,

Mine runs pretty light in the rear, just recovery stuff..
So a well laden truck will behave better....
So are we going to get treated to some Swedish 4x4 photo's in the New Year...:)

Maybe!

i am running it for the same purpose and under heavy load they work great.

Nice rig, that's what mine looked like about 6 years ago... Now its scratched, dented and always dirty. haha
Out of curiosity what were the removed springs...

Ran 80 series springs in my LJ71 for awhile, spring rate was far too high though and shock the hell out of me. May be better in a LWB cruiser but wouldnt recommend in the shorty. Also lifted it about 100mm so had to cut a ring or two off them as was way too high.
