80 series radio/electrical question

Question for everyone who has replaced their head unit with something that works (my stock cd player is broken), what is the wiring situation in the dash?

Did you use a wiring harness, or did you have to trace out each speaker lead to determine location?

I did the Eclipse speaker mod and can tell a world of difference already... now I just want to put a cd player in it that works?

Any advice on the wiring situation back there?

I got a harness kit that wired into the new head unit and plugged into the existing harness which is 2 different plugs from the one used now. I also unplugged the Amp which is located beside the glove box behind the front tweeter.

There seems to be a few different configurations of these kits out there and 1 of them has some sort of jumper wire which will wreak havock on the head unit if used.
