80 series locker in a 40? (1 Viewer)

I'm sure this has been covered in the past, but I cant find it, so I'll just ask. Is it possible to use the electric locker out of an 80 series axle and put it in my stock 40 series axle? Is it worth the effort, or would it be cheaper (& easier) to get an ARB? Thanks!

its in the tech links...

easy up front.. need full floater in the rear.. also you can only use the rear units.. the front unit out of the 80 is a 8".. read up on it in the tech links..

Don't forget you'll need to change one of the axle shafts out for one with longer splines.
