negative. ask me how I know. And actually, on the rear, if you haven't dropped the e-brake bracket off the frame cross member then it's most likely preventing droop more than the brakeline. but I'm still running my stock brake lines on Lorena but I released the last frame mount on the rear and the axle mount on the front.
I'd fix that before Moab.

I would flex it out to make sure. Didnt you put front spacers on your 80 as well?

I will be doing this before moab, but i want longer i believe . I will droop it and figure out what i will do from there.
 
IPOR's look good as well but they dont have the length listed on their web site. I'll give them a call as well maybe they will help an old VA resident out. Untill then I'll be driving a 07 4x4 stupid huge cab tundra with the 5.7L which is very impresive. A perfect all toyota 80 swap if unlimited funds were available.

diving board was rough too. my shins looked like bodean's face after.
 
Why ss lines you are not building any heat un system for fading and 80s are not race cars. Funny how rubber lines don't have failing issues like all the high dollar ss lines.

agree. i fell for the SS lines gimick the first time i ever ordered extended ones for an 80... never again.
 
Man this is really starting to feel like an 80 section thread now. lets start bickering about the best type of cupholders next :rolleyes:

looking at the custom lengths more than anything. i could care less if they are rubber or stainless. Only reason i would use the stainless over rubber is cause they supposed to be more abrasion resistant compared to rubber. I don't get into busting trails and deep mud anymore so i could go either way now.

Ordered a set from from Slee. The Oem hose would of been fine but the hose for the passenger front is only 2 1/8" longer than stock.
 
Guys, don't overthink this. There was nothing wrong with your 15-20 year old lines other than length right? Just go to the parts store and buy the lines for the applications listed in several threads in the 80 section(if I find a few minutes I'll look up the part numbers). Really, this is a no brainer. There is no need for high $ braided stainless steel lines for this application.
 
I went with Slee lines about 4 years ago and they have held up great. No issues at all. If you need custom brake lines...let me know. I have a guy in Memphis that builds top-end lines. He will put two or three different sleeves on them if you want him to. I had to have a custom set made for the M5 and they were works of art.

The rubber hose that is listed in the hose thread is only 2 1/8" longer than stock. I'm running 5" coils and a 30mm spacer on the front so a rubber hose that is only 2 1/8" longer will be too short. This is why I went stainless.
 
No Mark, we actually discussed your probability of success and allowed that you could likely meet the challenge with one hand! Do wish you had been there though... Next time?:beer:
