I've got a set of part time hubs for an 80. All I'm missing is the spool for the t-case.

I like full - time 4wd for the safety factor though. I will keep it like the engineers designed it. I was surprised it would peel out though.
There must've been bleach on the road you couldn't see. :) If I took out my front driveshaft, I don't believe my 80 would spin the back tires even if I lifted the rear end with a jack..........

Even with the new spark plugs ?!?!?

so either get an 80 and wheel the s*** out of it or get a hunered to DD and haul a trailer huh?

to keep the 40 nice for tooling around implies it's nice now.....you obviously haven't seen my rig in person....it's a cancer patient

maybe after this deployment.....

a guy can dream!

It is a terrible tow rig to be honest............
Yep, I was figuring 45 MPH from New Orleans to Tellico - on the flat stretches - probably sucked! :grinpimp: Did you get in the 80 in N.O., put a brick on the accelerator, and pull it off when you needed fuel?

Which would have been about every 80 miles. Couldn't imagine towing a 40 with an 80. Last year we had the crawl at Gray Rock a retired Army colonel flat towed a40 with a 60.

I towed the samurai with my 80 and got about 8 mpg at 70mph. hunted for gears on every hill to superlift.

Just because it can doesn't mean it should. sequoia was much better, same platform as 100. It helped that the tires on sequoia are stock. the 80 had the 315s at the time..

I tried that first. I have a picture somewhere of me doing it. I towed from Mandeville to Alexandria 2-3 times and once back to MS with it behind my 60.

It was a disaster.

As for the 80...I towed in D and ran it at 3000 RPM all the time. Got about 8mpg.

Found it
