WELL, I have my first fawk up. I didn't fully appreciate the "made by hand" nature of these panels and will that didn't not take into account the very nature of the uniqueness of being "made by hand". All of the snaps are supposed to fall onto a grid pattern that we set up. and then centered 5/8" from each corner. Well, in some cases these snaps could off by as little as a 1/32" and possibly as much as 1/8". When making all of my templates I assumed (like an idiot) that all of the snaps for all of the same APU would fall in place. Turns out not to be the case. I just did my 7th random test install onto different areas of the truck and garage and I found a template that was off. All of the templates are exactly the same. Thus the issue.

Only a small number of these has gone out but to those that either have theirs or are about to install theirs, PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK the template. You may need to adjust the holes in the template a little. Or it might be dead nuts on. I will make sure that all future shipments, including the ones that are already packaged and ready to ship, will have correct and unique templates. Sorry about that folks. Its a learning curve ;)

This is what I use with their bags. It adjustable and can easily be installed using some Wits End snaps. I like the Velcro backing because I can move it between bags.

So if you want to add snaps to that you can. Let me know and I can throw in a pair of the snap kits to your order if you want to try it out? All you need to do is pop an 1/8" hole where ever you want to install the female snap in the material. Let me know.

I don't think my HK45c will stand upright in the bottom. It's a big gun for a compact. I'd have to measure but I'm out of town at the moment. I don't think I would mount it anyway.

Upright no I don't think so. I would have to be angled I would suspect.

Ok I have "some" good news. I have panels ready to ship out and some already have. Others were waiting on the console liners I am doing up. Those were supposed to be done yesterday morning so that I would have time to prepare them for shipping out today. Well...they weren't ready until right now. Its sucky because I wanted it all to be ready to ship today. But it is good news because I was able to catch that template error before everything was packaged up and that would have sucked. I will be prepping these liners now that the silkscreening is done. I should be able to ship out quite a few out tomorrow while the rest are waiting for the fire extinguisher mount.

Wits'end Packaging, product quality, aesthetics and delivery are A+--worth every penny.

I received my order in the mail today (I think I ordered a couple days ago) and was so impressed with the packaging and quality of the product I had to post. What a great experience.

Thank you for listening.

I installed my Wits End inside console: Spare seeing glasses, pen, knife, gauge and will put a spork in there. I love this thing!

Damn @zona you have an interesting wood collection going on. :flipoff2:

I don't have an LC console to play with so I didn't really consider that placement as an option, but it works ;)

So, uh...whatcha got in the back panel> ;)

My APU2 just showed up. :spaz:

Now I need to find my 80. :bang:

The goods showed up. Packaging was top notch. Now out to the garage to install.

Install was a 5 minute job at most. It will also hold a Ruger LCP .380 in the hidden compartment if needed. A bit bulky for the items in front but Velcro still holds it shut.

Ok folks I did want to throw this out there since it could be a potential issue for some of you using the 3/8" screws mounting it to the primary lid. If your leather is TOTALLY ratty and split and the foam under it is totally worn away and smells like a wet dog even though you don't own a dog...then there is a possibility that you could feel the very tip of one of the screws. This just happened on a lid that I was using to test with on one of my neighbor's beater 80. The truck is trashed to hell so the owner lets me "do things' to it :flipoff2:

This is the only occurence I know of where the screw could be an issue and it only affects the top lid. If you run into this, replace your leather on the lid you cheap bastard, or just run the screw with a washer on it to prevent it from going too far in. < there is a joke here, I know it. :flipoff2:

Just confirmed in case you happen to also have a late model 60 or some oddball early 80 series, the APU-2 is a damn near perfect fit with the snaps even falling perfectly onto the plastic material and not the valleys of the lid. Woohoo!

Have been waiting to buy my console storage. Yesterday, I couldn't get past the "open a PayPal account" when I was trying to use my Visa...site seemed to get stuck on wanting me to use PayPal and not move to send the order so it waits in the cart. Any suggestions?
