Tube bumper for the 80. Some fun angles to play with for sure. Removed the rear cross member and cut 3 5/8" off the frame rails, tucks in nice for better departure angle. The bumper itself acts as the rear most cross member and a secondary cross member has been added that also carries the forward end of the 2" receiver. The sides wrap around to the rear of the wheel well and are tied back to the sides of the frame. This bumper will have a swing out with spare tire mount and a double Jerry can rack. More to come
Most of the main bumper is together, including cross member and receiver tube. Spindle is in place for the swing out. Still some gussets to put in as well.
Ready to come off the truck for back welding, clean up, and paint
Bumper weight 85lbs
Swing Out weight 42lbs
Can rack 11 lbs
80 Series Bumper Pricing
The tube bumper shown can be built with either .120” wall or .188 wall DOM tubing. This bumper is designed to be used on an 80 series frame that has had 3 5/8” cut off it’s length, including the rear most cross member. This is done to increase departure angle. The OEM spare tire mount and any exhaust components behind the passenger rear tire are also removed from the vehicle. The rear cross member is replaced with the bumper itself and a secondary 1.5” X 2.5” X .188” wall Rectangular tubing cross member that also acts as the forward mounting point for the 2” receiver.
The bumper attaches to the main frame via 4- ½” grade 8 bolts and one 12mm grade 10.9 on each side. Side wings of the bumper attach to the side of the frame using 4 8mm bolts. All mounting points to the frame are constructed with ¼” plate steel. Recovery points are ¾” wide and tied directly to the frame. A 2” receiver is standard as shown.
Swingouts are available in two configurations. Standard swing out is a single arm with a spare tire mount. A Jerry can rack or ladder can be added at an additional cost. Can rack and ladder mount to tabs and are removable and interchangeable. Dual swing out version puts the spare tire on one rack and either a Jerry Can rack or ladder on the second rack. A Hi-Lift jack mount can be added to either version at an additional cost.
Standard Bumper $ 975.00
Single Swing Out
SwingOut $ 725.00
Jerry Can Rack $ 175.00
Ladder $ 175.00
Hi-Lift Mount $ 75.00
