I was not going to political, they went to Berkeley what else do u expect, sorry for the hijack.

Guilty... what can I say. But trust me on this, it's not the liberal bastion it once was. You gotta go to UC Santa Cruz if you're looking for drum circles.

Thank you. Something different is no problem. This customer wants a tube bumper that is light weight and provides the protection he requires.

Bingo. My primary goal is to get the spare out from under the truck and secondary goal is to have a great looking rear end. I loved the look of the tube bumpers on Stan's site and the price was right. I haven't wheeled in about 10 years since I had my '87 4Runner but even then when I was young and dumb(er) I wasn't into hardcore rock crawling. I want a capable trail rig and this is going to suit my needs perfectly.

Stan, it looks great and I can't wait to get the truck back! The 45 minute ride to work on the motorcycle in <30 degree weather being just one of the reasons. That said, take the time you need to get it right so other 80 owners can benefit.

Glad you are happy Mike, that is what counts.
Most of the main bumper is together, including cross member and receiver tube. Spindle is in place for the swing out. Still some gussets to put in as well.

Careful, I grew up in them parts, my sister works at the home of the banana slugs. Its the only college I've heard of that doesn't give grades, just pass/fail courses...

The swing out is almost complete. A jerry can rack mounts to the left of the tire. Tire shown is a 33" BFG KM2

Ahh banana slugs.... not that I ever did this in my reckless youth but they make a hell of a screaming sound when you light them on fire

I love it in Santa Cruz.... spent a whole weekend trying to find the hippie commune in the woods one year. One of the nicest college campuses i've ever been too also.

Wow... just... wow! Looks awesome Stan.

Jerry, not knockin' UCSC... I was almost a Banana Slug but it's hard to turn down Berkeley.

That's turning out great!!!

Don't get me wrong, UCSC is liberals on steroids, I'd never send one of my children there. Yet, as Al said, its a beautiful campus, I miss living there and I can say that a banana slug does squish nicely when encountered by a mountain bike wheel...:grinpimp:

Ready to come off the truck for back welding, clean up, and paint

i really like that everything is on one swing out. Probably not great if u have to parallel park and unload, but i am a fan. Bravo.
