If I could set one a side for later I'd love a 40th like this.

If I could find one exactly like this one, I'd buy it within minutes. Actually, this is my favorite of the 7 year run also. I fell in love with them when they first came out. I wish there were more of them out there. I scour the Internet daily looking for the right one. Finding the right one WITH lockers is a challenge.

Yea when they come up for sale they sell fast. I've seem a few wanted ads where people were looking for them. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you :)

Here's a 40th about 30 miles from me....do I need to inspect it for anyone?

Looks good to go too Ryan, thats a nice rig for the wife ;)

More than I want to spend. But I am looking at a 96 FZJ in the Chi-town area.

Do you know if there is a way to eliminate the sensors and cats without throwing a code? I did a little searching, but couldn't find anything definitive. Also, how do you think it will affect your fuel mixture?

can not remove O2`s doubt can remove cats

that is what ya get for driving an emissions EFI vehicle

I wired some O2 eliminators on my Evo I raced and was hoping to do some research and do the same thing with the 80 it basically just looped it so the ECU saw the optimal voltage it needed to keep it happy. I spent $550 and some time to try and make the 80 happy with new vaccume lines O2 sensors and Cats a year ago and in city driving it'll kick the P401 code instantly when I clear and drive on the HWY for hours it won't kick back on until I get back to stop and start traffic. The O2's and Cats may take more research and work but my goal is to tear out all the costly emissions crap I can.

this is interesting. my main goal would be to eliminate the aggravating check engine light produced by the EGR (code 401).

Since the day I bought mine it was throwing a 401. I recently did my HG and while I was in there I changed every vacuum line, and cleaned an ungodly amount of carbon build up in my TB. I'm at about 2500 miles since then and no code. It's pretty easy to get to everything and doesn't take much time.

my $.02

I like the direction your going and may copy it after you get the kinks worked out!:D I'm really curious how it would affect performance. Another thing is even with sliders that protect the cats I don't like them dangling like they do.

;) exactly what I'm after and while I'm at it would like to rework my exhaust so its less restrictive and bulky and tuck it into the frame more. I still have the factory 55 gallon drum under there. I did cut the resonator out and tuck the rear tailpipe inside the frame but would like the rework it from the manifolds back and let it breath the rest of its time in there

I'll keep you updated on the progress I think it'll certainly make some gains with EGR and Cats out of the system. I'll be in NO this weekend but will tear into the EGR stuff next week. I watched the HG DVD last night he had some good tips in there and my gasket kit is in so I may take it down after the Sicily ride next month :) Thanks again for the use of the DVD

If you need help with the EGR on the Dodge I can assist with that , cleaner engine and a few mpg increase Is this what you are trying to do with the 80 https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/437888-egr-readiness-achieved-egr-removed.html ?

Well while I'm at it :hmm: :D Nah, I'm still hesitant to do anything that will void the warranty on the Dodge until its up in August but I've saved a few things you've gave me to do it then :) So far they've been good to me and taken care of the rear pinion seal and brakes. Its needs shocks but thats on my nickel so I'll look around.

On the 80 I've had a P401 code for a year or two and have done most of the fixes related to it with mixed success. HWY its fine but in town it comes on immediately. I'm just sick of the code and the power robbing pollution control so I'll do my best to rid myself of most of it. If I gain a few more mpg it'll certainly be welcomed I thought I might be shopping Corolla's again soon :whoops:

Cotton land is in the process of a very sweet 80 project!

Here is a hint:
It's something to do with a rolled 80 ;)
