That is sweet Scott... I wonder how it's performing

That is a great thread.
In the cottonland section I have a "80 V8 swap link" thread that should have most of the v8 swaps on Ih8mud. One of the club members is itching for a V8 in his 80...

Nice thread I may need that later :), would like to swap in a 4.7 out of a Tundra/Sequoia but spoke to a few people and it seems more involved and costly than the other alternatives.

We'll certainly do that

I've seen that one before they did a great job on the install I was curious why he never answered the questions on the oil pan and adapter. I liked his idea that any hobbist could do the install with his parts  I want to ride in yours to see how it handles a loaded 80 :) The test mule is in stock form no 35's, winch, arb, sliders and all the extras we bolt on. The Sprinter I6 would be a better platform.

If I could set one a side for later I'd love a 40th like this.

That's my favorite color Larry!

Mine as well its best looking model out of the 7 year run IMO :)

Yep. If the one I got wasn't such a good deal at the time (7 years ago) I would have held out for a 40th.

Everyone always asks me if the 40 on the side of my truck is a ghetto thing, like a 40 oz beer or something.

I prefer the color of my black one (Vader). To each his own......

Thats a pretty Ghetto thing to ask  they were putting those 40th emblems before ghetto rims were the things to have. I didn't know vader was a 40th, I thought the 40th models only came in the silver and beige color. I know your turbo'd 80 is a 40th too. Also didn't the 97 special edition only come in white at least thats the only color I've ever seen one in.

I've been trying to get my hands on one of the 50th Anniversary books for over a year and should cover that if I ever get one. "The Land Cruiser: Special Issue of 50th Anniversary, 1951-2001"

I guess what I said was a little confusing. My black one is a 96 and not an anniversary model. I just love black vehicles. When I had the 97 in the states people would aways ask me what the 40 was for. They said that some people put 40 on the sides of their cars. I had and have never seen that. Down here in C.R. people don't even know what kind of truck it is being that the Toyota emblems have all been removed. I agree that that the anniversary ones only came in silver and beige and the special addition only came in white. It is crazy how many little details we know about cruisers.

I too have been looking for the "Land Cruiser" 50th book. I have been wanting to buy one for my dad as a birthday or Christmas present. I know Mike T. has one, and that is the only one I have ever seen. Now that he isn't into cruisers anymore he may sell it. You could always ask him.
