hi guys i recently signed up to this forum and i am only new to it so still trying to work it all out. i own a 79 series landcruiser ute, 06 model RV factory turbo diesel. 1hd-fte motor. i tow a 5th wheel gooseneck which fully loaded with horses and gear comes close to 4 ton. it has been certified and all done legally to tow with mod plates and all.. before i started towing this thing i completely stripped the main gear in the transfer case ( was giving it some curry in 2nd gear mind you) it has a 160,000 mms on it and has now been fixed after a hefty $3,200 bill.. i am worried it will possibly happen again when i am in the middle of no where., does anybody out there have any idea why it did this and if it can be "beefed up" some how or if any one else has had this same problem? than
