Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser, 1979 - (5 passenger) Super Custom FOR SALE

Truly one-of-a-kind custom modifications not possible on any other FJ. Back story: I’m a steel fabricator of 30 years+ in Albuquerque NM. Owner of Pascetti Steel Design Inc. (please visit site, pascettisteel.com)- Commercial and residential metal fabrications; many diverse products. This vehicle is a project that has hundreds of hours of unique details only a custom fabricator can offer. Originally purchased in Colorado and has been in my possession in ABQ for approx. 20 yrs. Major rebuild approx. 2011. Took 1st place Super Nationals show (category-custom mod 4x4; If you want to enter shows this Cruiser will win). It has been a street cruiser only, never touches mud or off-roading. Always garaged (obviously) and many details have been recently perfected. Time to sell and help pay for college. I’ll send any photo/video you’d like; here’s the list of features and modifications….enjoy!
  • Complete dismantle and bucket up restoration. $17,000+ in professional paint and body…truly perfect.
  • New seals and rubber/weather stripping
  • New stainless hardware and connection bolts
  • Body panels painted and completed “off-body”. NO paint lines anywhere.
  • New handles, door locks, metal window trims, new window felts, professional tint, 3M paint protection.
  • New lights, trim/badges, hold-downs, wiper arms, door panels, etc.
  • Under side carriage complete detail with black undercoat throughout
  • Powder coated tire rack with mounted Cross-wrench
  • Custom fabricated-powder coated front bumper with PIAA lights, locking storage compartment
  • Custom fabricated- rear tailgate with working license plate lights (when rear doors are off-see photos)
  • Engine and transmission swap to new Chevy 350 with 3-speed automatic (turbo 400). Actual mileage unknown, Only driven approx. 300-500 miles annually. Engine/tranny has approx. 8,000-10,000 total miles. *Odometer abandoned with transmission swap.
  • Notable engine modifications:
  • “Mark 7” custom aluminum racing radiator with dual electric fans
  • Custom radiator mounts- powder coated with machined aluminum “Pascetti” emblem
  • Programable electronic fuel injection system - MDS Atomic
  • Stainless-steel braided hoses throughout
  • Stainless-steel headers and complete stainless exhaust system with low-flow mufflers
  • Power steering (aftermarket) with stainless-steel lines
  • Engine compartment complete paint and detailed
  • Original Toyota transfer case and axles. All completely working, serviced and leak-free
  • New WARN locking hubs. 100% working and leak-free
  • Front disc brakes; rear drum
  • Interior modifications:
  • Complete matching new interior paint throughout
  • Custom powder coated interior roll-cage with 5-passenger seating and seatbelt system (keep all three kids safe). Still have original roll bar and original flip-down seats-you can have them.
  • Modern Toyota seatbelts throughout.
  • Powder coated custom rear bench seat (Ford van) with all new foam/upholstery
  • All seats with new foam, upholstery. Matching race-stripe design throughout
  • New padded head liner
  • Custom flip-down, hydraulic rear headrest (see photos). Safer for back seat passengers
  • Custom Roll-bar pads
  • Custom removable soft-top. Intergraded snaps/clips into roll cage (see photos)
  • Powder coated steel “oh-s***” handle- dash mounted
  • Stainless-steel transfer case bezel with custom upholstery

Nice 40. And I'm sure that just like most on this forum, you have way too many hours in your truck. However, I hope you are listing it elsewhere. This place is likely not going to generate much interest in a show truck.

Nice pic of the 40 with the Sandias in the background though! I miss the Land of Enchantment.

I've seen all the pics of this restromod, and its very impressive. Prices with the collectible/exotic brokers run more than this one, and are hardly as nice. Two bits.
