Can anyone point me to some pics or links for great 78 series traybacks or pickup beds please?
I want to scratchbuild a scale model using the Busch 78 troopy but need pics and dimensions for the beds.

Thanks , and i'll now go back to my boring old 60 series .;)

Joe

O.k., with my non 70 series knowledge i may be looking for dimensions and pics of an HZJ 79 not a 78.:hillbilly:

Does it have to be a 79 series? The online workshop manuals have frame dimensions from pg B0117 onwards for a 75 series.
Bottom of page Toyota Workshop & Repair Manuals - Page: 2

I think the 79 has 100mm more cabin length

Is this what you're looking for?

Awesome !
Thank you much and welcome to MUD!

All that is in the body manual but did you want a 75 or 79 series?

roscoFJ73,

If you can post the pics from the manual that would be a great help. Don't care if it's for a 75 or 79 at this point as long as it's a pickup bed or tray back.
Thanks,
Joe

Just so you know the 75 series bed and the 79 series bed are different. The 79 will not mount up to a 75 and the 75 series on a 79 will leave you with about 8 inches of space between the bed and cab. I have 2 brand new 79 series beds I can take detailed pics of if you would like.

Cheers,

Michael

Well i'm modifying an HZJ78 model so I believe the 79 series bed would be correct shouldn't it?

I'm not sure but would love the pics and basic dimensions bro!:D

I think the 78 is the same as the 75 series it replaced but the 79 series is a 100mm longer.
The dimensions for them are on Toyota Australias home [page

You have the 79 beds for sale. Is it still available?? How much are you selling for each?

Tray size

I have a tray for the 75 and the 79. The 79 tray is 75~80 mm longer from the center of the wheel and forward to the cab.
