78 40 Windshield Glass Replacement Source (1 Viewer)

I have a 78 that desperately needs a new a windshield glass. I called all the local places and their response to my surprise was " all of our whorehouses have no stock for that." Just kidding, why the heck would a glass company stock a glass from the 70's maybe some do but I would have been surprised if they did. When I asked if they could cut it they said yeah for about $300. Well I am a cheap SOB so, with that said I am looking for a cheaper source. I am in southern NH. Wally has told me he has a source but that's Bennington VT which is about a 5 hour round trip. I'm always down to see Wally but I would like to get this windshield glass sooner than later and my August weekends are chock full. Anyone have a source closer to the southern NH area for the glass?

Try Granite State Glass in Concord, they had flat laminate glass and made one for my 73 while I waited, I brought my old one for a template. This was a number of years ago though.

@fourlow&go Thanks Jr. I will check them out today. Do you remember the cost. Manchester Glass said they could cut it but that was for almost $300! To much money to go out and break again.

That place over on Candia Rd in Manchester did mine for cheap. I just gave them dimensions and radii and picked it up a couple days later.
