eBay 77 Series ...

So what is it worth?
Well as they say "it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it" however based on the limited market on the 77 Series in the U.S., the averages seem to run in the $22,000.00 - $24,000.00 range while extremely clean, low mileage models seem to average in the high $20's. Accessories obviously add to the value but unfortunately seldom add the same amount you have invested in them.
Good luck with your sale.

** For clarification, I'm in no way expressing an opinion, pro or con, about the asking price of this particular Cruiser.
:)

Well, if you can find one at JDM auction that's importable and has decent miles, that's pretty rare indeed. To find one that has a 5 speed and lockers is extremely rare! I've been watching the Japanese Auctions for a very long time and over the past year I'd say you'd be looking at a sale price of around $20k before you pay all the other taxes, commissions and shipping... Even the non-importable years are expensive, not just Americans are looking for these rigs. This truck is a $30k land cruiser all day long, but if some one offered me $25k I'd let them have it. BTW: this one is turbo charged and also comes with a factory winch and a US title, so it's worth more than I'm asking, but that's just my opinion.

The last one I saw sell that had all the options listed was this one...
For Sale: - 1993 HZJ77 ZX - lifted, locked, loaded...
And that was back when Canadian and US $ were par

Again I hope you get your full asking price. After all a rising tide lifts all boats. : )

I looked at this Cruiser the first day it hit the market. I was willing to serve a "short jail term" to own it but couldn't make it work although thoughts of "creative importing" did cross my mind. Due to the overall condition and the gentleman who owned it, that particular 77 Series was the one that all others would be judged against.

2021 is coming up in 5 years.
I'll have replaced everything at that point!
Hopefully the value holds for these trucks.

Thanks! I feel the same way (although I'm somewhat biased!). It is, though, a very sweet ride :)

Hey guys,

I am the one that bought this beauty from Dave, it arrived late last night at its new home in San Diego, CA. I have not stopped smiling since. To set the record straight for all you haters and nay sayers who have questioned the integrity of this rig and the seller, you could have not been more wrong, and missed out on a truely one of a kind rig. Dave with Back 40 imports has been nothing but a pleasure to deal with. He was up front and honest about the rig and we were able to make a fair deal. He even set me up with a reputable shipper who transported it to CA for a reasonable price as well. I would not hesitate buying another rig from him, actually kind of thinking about it.

The rig is just as advertised, mechanically sound, all electrical works, even the power mirrors! Yes the paint is weathered, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 25 year old vehicle. The condition of the interior is better then my 2000+ rigs, which is pretty amazing. He has receipts of over 5k in mechanical maintenance done on it, which is a great piece of mind.

I will be making some personal preference changes like, removing the body lift and swapping to smaller tires, which i think should get back to better power/weight/gearing ratio.

Other then that I will be driving the s*** out of it, and smiling the whole time.

Next week it will be back up on ebay for 30k.......just kidding.

Feel free to hit me up if you are in north county San diego to check this thing out in person.

Nick
