Quick question - in looking for parts for my 91 hzj77, I'm seeing a lot of listings for 73, 75, 76 and 78 series, but the 77 series is almost always excluded. Does the 77 share parts with one of those so I could just order those instead? Also, are any of the 70 series parts interchangeable with say the fj60 or 62? I’m under the impression that the axles and suspension (springs and brakes, etc) may be the same, but can’t find a definitive answer.

I used to own one for years and have a fair amount of information on what can and can’t be used. Ask away on what you are looking for.

Right now I'm specifically looking for brakes (pads and rotors), but I guess for future reference I'm also wondering if aftermarket bumpers are interchangeable.

The differences are too broad for a definitive answer
If I owned one of these in the US , I would pay $50 a year to get a good VPN ( I use VPN Express, never lets me down) and then you can access the parts diagrams and then you can compare parts numbers with similar vehicles.
The parts diagrams have a box you can enter a part number into and it tells you the other models that use the same part.
Fundamentally, they are all basically the same vehicle year for year. The 7* series do share some parts with 6* ,mainly electrical.
The HZJ73 and HZJ75 will be the closest mechanically. There are parts that are common across most Toyota's
But you have to be aware with world markets , some got things like rear disc brakes earlier. Some are 12 or 24v.There are a number of diff options etc.
So its really about being able to compare part numbers. The $50 a year VPN cost will be more than repaid in a cheap reliable supply of parts.

Generally , yes. But you would need to state exactly which model.

You can use Megazip to compare the different 70 series parts. I also use the part number search on ToyoDIY to tell me what all models a given part came in. Between the two you can easily compare everything.

For brake, contact @wardharris and do TT bits or @cruiseroutfit for OE stuff.

For front bumpers, 7X are the same. Reputable venders are good resources. You may pay more then big box vendors, but from experience, it’s well worth it. I know I can call for tech support and get it instantly.

For the rear, overhang could be a limfac. I’ll be posting up some info soon regarding the 75 (Troopy) kaymar rear bar on a 77.

Rant time... I’m seeing the 70 community open up as imports become increasingly common. Soon enough parts will be sold from generic chain/wholesale retailers commonly. I cannot stress enough the wonderful support offered by “OG” shops. Guys like Ward, George, Kurt, Bryce, and Ian (to name a few) are constainy going above and beyond to support the community and customers. Perfect example: the first thing I bought from Cruiser Brothers was a Doug’s tub. I had issues paying, likely my fault. In any case Ward kicked me an invoice and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t charged shipping, tax, and the cost was rounded down. I paid on PayPal and it was in the mail the same day. Knowing the workload of that company it was more hassle for Ward to do that. A big box seller would have said “**** it, profits don’t justify my additional time on this idiot.” Just give them a ring with the stuff you need. End rant.

It depends...

Some stuff is the same as a similar year 7x (axle overhaul kits, filters, belts, hoses, etc), other things are different (suspension, trim). Some of those parts do share components with a 6x Series but not a huge amount of parts. Really, your best off working with a Land Cruiser parts specialist that is familiar with the 77, better yet one like us (Cruiser Outfitters) that personally has one :D

As for rear bumpers, give out Cruiser Outfitters rear bumpers (and front too) some consideration. They offer the best open/close utility out there as they utilize the door opening mechanism for the swings

Very nice looking rear bumper...

I have a 1993 PZJ75 pickup and was wondering if one these bumpers would fit without the gas can and tire swingouts ?

I've not tried mounting on a 75/79 pickup so I can't say for certain. At current, we only offer them with the dual swings.

Hey @cruiseroutfit do you have a link to those rear bars? I'm interested in one for an LJ78. Based in Oz, can you ship?

We don't currently offer shipping on these bumpers outside of North America. We can ship to any US port and you can arrange with a freight consolidator/forwarder to move the freight from the US to Aus.
