The Toy dealer has a coupon for a drain and fill (up to 5 qts) clean screen and adjust throtle linkage for $76.95
I am due for a change and I tried to adjust the cable but the cable in my FSM is not the one in my 80.
I paid $125 two years ago at a tranny shop.
Is this a deal or what?
Its about $10 more for the 80

I also get TWO FREE MOVIE TICKETS from Toyota USA :D

Be careful, the movie might have subliminal subtexts...encouraging you to spend more money at the stealership. Here's your popcorn

Landtoy80 that is a riot.

By the way, have you seen the new Tacoma they are coming out with. Looks pretty cool. ;)

nice truck, interiors are changing as much as exteriors.

According to the article the TRD Off-Road Package contains...

"a thicker front sway bar," ....................... "and a locking rear differential".

Ummm... the two don't seem to go together...

I no like the new Taco. I no like the old Taco. I want new or old HiLux :D

With my milage and the last change was 40,000 mi (2 1/2 years ago) should I have Toy do the change or should I just drain and fill the pan a couple of times?

at the last change (40k ago) the pan and filter cleaned? or was it just a drain and refill? if the former you should be fine with a few drain and refills during you normal ouil changes, the later you can drop the pan and do it your self for a lot less, all it costs is a tube of sealnat, some solvent and fluid, plus your rig is not in the hands of someone with an unknown skill level who does not care about your 80

I just did a fluid exchange. This is better than a drain and fill. It hooks up to a machine and uses the tranny pump to move the fluid. There is a lot of fluid that does not get replaced on just a drain and fill. Don't do a flush, that places pressure on the tranny from an outside source rather than using the tranny's own pump.

The prices was $129, but they had a coupon for $99. It was at a place that specializes in Toyotas and lexus. You know your in the right place when the use Toyota Red antifreeze instead of yellow Prestone.
