I'm pretty sure i blew a fuse inline somewhere behind the dash, the fuse at the box is fine, I've
never figured out how to get the darn thing out of the dash so i can see the wires.

She's been sitting for a couple years, trying to tear into the things that annoyed me, but should be small, as well as replacing the pinion bearing & chasing an electrical gremlin..

Dug up a pic, does a nut on the back hold on the sleeve to pres it to the dash face plate?
or is the sleeve threaded on one end?

Thanks,

Cal/Eric-

that sleeve is the nut. just reach behind grab and start twisting clockwise from your position

Ant, I know what you mean, you know too. Most of the English speaking world probably gets it...BUT, there's always that one that gets it wrong.

So, I think it's better to say that the sleeve unscrews counter-clockwise and maybe add that it is counter-clockwise when viewed from inside the dash, or from the front of vehicle, or with some other clarifier.

I'd want to leave the term "clockwise" out of the instruction without rising to the level of confusion referenced by Brian above:
"From behind the dash, twist on the cylinder sleeve for the ashtray, and rotate it in the counterclockwise direction to back it out"

that's a lot of words to say the same thing. I never read your directions. my post was for the OP. as long as he understands it I'm happy
