76 FJ40 Alternator Costs

Well, I've lurked for a long time but finally registered when I considered buying a 40 as an older brother to my FJC.

That out of the way, I saw a pretty good 76 40 that I'm looking at but it needs an alternator. I've heard these can cost a small fortune but I'm trying to nail down a rough cost of what it will take to get the FJ up, running and on the trail!

They are about $40 at your local parts store. A small fortune indeed...

I bought one from the dealer for about $80.

HAHA, and here I am thinking it would be hundreds...

It's a Land Cruiser NOT a Land Rover.....You will find that most parts for the 40's aren’t too terrible, then again I paid $80.00 for a Toyota Heater control Valve....I guess it just depends on that whole supply and demand thing.
