I found a 76 front axle with disc brakes. I have a 74 with drums. If I change out the complete axles will there be any things I need to be aware of? Are gear ratios the same? Any idea where to find brake lines I will need? Any help is greatly appreciated.

you should be able to bolt the axle right up to the springs. if you have a 4 speed tranny your drive shaft will bolt up..if 3 speed you will need a diffrent drive shaft OR you will need a diffrent pinion flange...and i think that the 76 was still course splined so you should be able to take the one off your 74 OR you could just swap out the diffs no problem and not worry either way. good luck.

You can take the hard lines off of the drum brake axle and combine them onto the disc to make them work, mainly cause the drum drops from the frame in a different location....if it is like my daughter's 73 which I did several years ago.

and don't forget to pull the residual valve from the front brake circuit....write up in the tech section.
