It's also more than a sleeping area. Having an "indoors" area where you can stand up, change clothes, move around, cook, eat, ect... without dirt is a big deal.

But, as with anything, different strokes for different folks.
and get away from mosquito's, white socks, no-see-um. ;)

Pop uo top is very comfortable and practical in all circumstances .
Hot desert sun , you have shadow inside and with all windows down Air is flowing .
Cold winter nights , with a outside side cover and webasto running , you are in t-shirt wit -10 C outside ,sipping your tea or coffee.
All middle situations of course .
And great for off road traveling as good road runners .
In my opinion if you like to travel and camp is the best solution .
But not for every one , as you can clearly see when traveling .

I will add here that we have enjoyed the pop top on the troopy a lot and indeed there is that advantage of having a decent sized "bedroom" while still having room inside the truck for luggage or just to sit and read a book we decided that not having a bathroom and a shower handy all the time was a big downside for us and I sold mine and bought a new truck and a truck camper that has a few more comfort items.

I think this is the perfect setup for the minimalist traveler going away from the beaten path but I was using it mainly at Land Cruiser events or going out with the motor bikes and parking it at a KOA and when using it like that the camper just make more sense.

I have always preferred the MWB 73 over the LWB growing up in Europe and I guess I still prefer the mwb over swb or lwb 70 series models , pretty sure I will be missing this particular troopy but I wouldn't have enough use for it to justify keeping it around , maybe the new owner will post it up some day and I am pretty sure he will use it as intended .

So we've basically reached the same conclusion as before... to each his/her own. (After all, we should remember there are some who bike around the world and sleep in a tent, and there are others who don't even have a tent!!).

Should be some kind of HINO variant carrying that, not a Ford. Keep it in the family Joe.
