Selling a 74 FJ40 I got in a trade with a friend late last year. This is a great running truck loaded with good equipment. very presentable looking the body is basically very solid. I won't call it perfect but this is the ideal driver for someone.
Body is solid, no rust through anywhere that I can see. Someone put a strip of sheet metal across the rear sill not sure why. Cargo area and front floors are solid. Doors close Ok and lock. I believe one of the windows does not roll up or down. Hardtop has a dent or two in the drip rail area. Doors are solid as are all front end body components. Frame is solid. Bumperettes in place in the rear. Nice front bumper looks like it might be from JT Outfitters.
Equipped with a 2F engine I believe came from a 78. Starts great- I mean absolutely great- and runs well. No smoke or bad noises. Has a Jim C rebuilt carb, newer water pump, stock air cleaner, header with a very quiet and leak-free exhaust system. Clutch is fine. 4 speed transmission and transfer case from again, I believe, a 78. Both work well. Tranny and transfer case shift well and work fine in all gears. Rears have 4.10 thirds and are trouble-free. rear axle has a lokrite locker front is not locked. Aisin hubs turn freely. Driveshafts in good shape.
Brakes are four wheel disc and work well. master looks to be from an 80 series. Full Old Man Emu suspension- this truck handles and rides very nicely. Power steering box is from a mini-truck and works well, pump is from Georg at valley Hybrids and works well. tires are (5) 33 x 10.50 BFG all terrains with excellent tread mounted on stock steel disc brake wheels with stock hubcaps. Some photos may show it with Swampers mounted- they're gone. Spare tire carrier swings and latches as it should.
Wipers work turn signals and flashers work, horn works, and headlights and tail lights work. Heater fan works. No rear heater.
Seats have been reupholstered and look nice. Yes dear it does have jump seats in the back. Black console in one picture has been replaced by a stock FJ40 piece. A stock 40 wheel has been installed to replace the 60 wheel in the photo of the dash. No stereo but there are speakers mounted in the front doors. Dash is uncut where the radio would go. All dash pads in place. Full family roll cage mounted well and tied into the frame.
This is not a show truck but a very nice looking and great running FJ40. Find one that looks this good and has all the quality equipment this one has, and runs and drives as well as this one, for the price- good luck doing so. price is firm at $11K. Located in northeast PA. Clear title in hand. Best to email me shmukter@pa.metrocast.net. Thanks, Gary

I owned and drove this 40 for over four years, it is a reliable driver and rode as nice as any 40 I've ever been in. I installed many OEM parts over the years and there is plenty of documentation showing it originated from NV and then CO.

The only drivetrain component not stock is the 78' 2F I installed with 100K miles on it. 4-speed and t-case are original to the truck.

I bet this will be sold today, if it's not already. Nice rig at a great price

I'm pretty sure I saw this truck during my 'search' a ways back?... Really nice rig and very likely would have been mine had one not come available just down the road from me.

Lots of inquiries about the 74. Looks like it's spoken for. Wish I had a few more like it to keep everyone happy! Took a few photos today of it, a lot of the snow around here is gone (but not all of it). Photos attached. Thanks, Gary

40 has been sold, in fact it is now with the new owner a few states away! I had a lot of interest in this truck, justifiably, as finding a good running truck with good equipment and a serviceable body is getting hard to do. Best of luck to Chris the new owner! Thanks, Gary
