74 FJ40 4spd

Hello to all and am new to the forum. Question; I have a 1974 FJ40 with motor serial #570295 and VIN18759 which both indicate as being a 74. My 74 has 4spd tranny which i thought to first be offered in 75. Any ideas as this is an all original FJ with 84k miles.

'74 was a transition year. No great surprise. Your's is a late '74, Nov. I'm surprised it's not titled as a '75.

I'm not. My Dec. '74 (that came with a 4-speed) is registered as '74...

I have a 4/74 factory 4 spd 66K original miles.

9/74 here and a 4 speed

I got a 10/74 great year... all 74's were 74's

you should also have the engine we call the 'F and a Half' or F.5 or 1.5F... this engine was different because of the updated oiling system... but technically still an F155
