I have a transmission and transfer case combo for a 74 to 78 fj40. Unit moves freely. Would prefer local pickup, but if you want it shipped I can put it on a pallet and deliver to Fastenal. $350. Pictures coming later.

Here's a couple pictures.

I could be interested in this. My son will be driving a U-haul to Salinas this weekend. I will talk with him. In the meantime, a peak inside the top cover of the t-case would be very informative.

Mark ,

I apologize for not including pictures of the transfer case.

I removed the top cover and found that there had been a small amount of
condensation in with the oil. I inspected for any nicked/chipped teeth, which I found none. The last image is the gears rotated 180. Not very handsome pictures.

Kevin, can you slide the form over to the low speed gear and take a closeup of the teeth on the hi speed gear.

I’m probably going to buy this.

I locked up for the night. I will take some more pictures in the morning. Give me time...I'll get it right !! lol

I hope this is the shot you were looking for. I moved the fork to each side in the different shots.

Those are some fuzzy pictures. I will take some more.

Thanks Kevin.

Got the package from Marlin, Kevin. Won’t be able to look at until Monday. It was/is bagged.

After I took the original pictures. I buttoned it up and put in in my shed. It had not seen the light of day until I took it down south. I assume it was stored inside after I dropped it off.

I apologize that you received it that condition.

If it is screwed up I want to make it right.

Well, I’m just finishing pulling this apart. There is no doubt that this combo was submerged for an extended period of time. Parking brake filled with silt, rust between transmission and tcase.

I will call you later. On a super tight schedule this morning.

And FWIW, I have no doubt you will make it right.;)
