Hi, I bought a vacuum test kit and am trying to find a location to connect. This a 10/71 fj40 with 155f original engine. Is the location circled in red ok to use? This hose leads to the brake booster. Is the location circled in blue viable? This one is on top of intake manifold and the hose leads to the distributor. I’ve read a lot of the related posts but most are for later models thanks for any help.

So with this fitting I could hook up the vacuum tester and use it for other purposes whenever I need it? It just stays there? Thanks for reply

YES ,

its a PLUG and PLAY Late Modle 2F part , it actually has a micro-filter inside to prevent particles from being sucked into the intake if a hose was left off for some reason

the JIS pipe taper threads are same

i WOULD spin on like ONLY 2 full turns ov good quality teflon tape for good measure too , just because i don't like thinking what if late at night while i PIPE DREAM UP new and exciting ideas .....

Like a single roll of OEM TOYOTA Vacuum hose 3MM think thick wall COLD Spec. type enough to completely re-plumb your entire engine bay for sure ....

out with the OLD , IN with the NEW , it;s gonna be KILLER KOOL to have not one , but more the 2 ...........................

Manifold absolute VACUUM taps at your finger tips !

note your old single port STONE AGE version of the service port is all metal ,

the new one i linked you to above , is composite top black area and Silver Violet high salt spray rated heavy duty tough as nails

i always i install one of these on any TOYOTA i have had because a 52mm FULL SWEEP OEM YAZAKI Vacuum or a FD brand one is a MUST Have Geauga to give me critical info i deem important

Sold, thanks Matt.

The blue fitting port is restricted to that vac that the particular cylinder(s) are seeing--get the port as close to the common carb outlet as possible to get a good reading on the overall vac--those readings can tell you a lot about what's going on in the engine

@ToyotaMatt for those of us with an earlier intake manifold (1970) with a vacuum port on the firewall side of the carb which supplies vacuum for the 4wd actuator, will your adapter shown above fit? It appears that the vacuum hose is larger than is what is shown in your photo. We do not have a port such as the one circled in blue. Thanks.

The one on the top of the intake manifold is used to supply vacuum to the 4WD actuator on the firewall. You will note that the vacuum hose is much larger than conventional hose.

i see that Mark ,

my question should have been better worded , sorry

- do u need the brake booster hose size spec. OEM fitting ?

- or

- are you asking me if my 3-way OEM vacuum fitting's JIS male PIPE Taper Threads are the same as the current BOOSTER Hose Fitting , that your removing , now and replacing it WITH my 3 way ?

make sense now ? :)

because here IS WHY i ask this ..... :

- below is a OEM Brake Booster intake manifold fitting , ....

I like the idea of having a readily accessible vacuum port so I was attracted by your factory 2F general service port as shown in Post #3 above. But I don't think that would work on the F.5 as the hose supplying vacuum to the 4WD is too big. Thanks.

there is a alternative OEM solution for you here Mark ...
