SOLD!!!! SOLD!!!!!!!!
I have a 71 fj55. I was in the process of taking the axles, ps and other bits out of a 1982 FJ60 and put them in the 55. I also had big plans for a new power train for the 55. that was 4 years ago, my son is now 3.5 and I don't know when I will have time to get back to the project. Now I really need the garage space back so it has to go somewhere and It would be ridiculous to pay to store it.
I have the front axle on both cruisers removed and the spring hangers removed from the 55 and the 60 front axle sitting under it. I have a set of Ruff Stuff spring hangers for the 55 that need to be welded in and the axle bolted up. The engine, TC and trans are gone from both vehicles. The rear axles are still under and attached to both vehicles. I have clean titles for both vehicles. Both still have the original engine and transmission mounts in place. I could throw in a 3spd top mount shifter and case. I probably have both f and 2f bell housings.
The 55 has rust holes at the bottom of the front fenders but other than that it is in pretty rust free condition. It is solid in the rockers, and roof line (55 problem areas). I bought and drove up from Phoenix AZ to be a great project vehicle to start a great build from. I drove it all over Oregon for several years, The rear window rolled up and down when it was last running. It has been stored inside my garage for the last 4 years. The front seat was trashed and has been replaced with comfy leather ones from a late model Buick Rivera. It will come with a VERY hard to get Metal Tech made side sliders!
The fj 60 was from the san Juans and is rusty and has 250k or so on it. It was in some accidents and I don't think there is a straight panel on it anywhere. It was just a donor rig. I have the title so if someone didn't want it they could take some stuff off and then have the recycle come get it.
These are old photos but not much has happened in years with the exception of the enginne/tc/tran removal and some other minor work.

I would really like the 55 to go to a good home!
