and today. got some done.
started working on the front shock mounts. using the ford mounts, i figured the max uptravel and set the mounts to that. also added a gusset to the back of it. i got half of it burnt in but then relized that i still havent got the steering box so i stoped.
IMG_3926.JPG

start of the rear gusset. was on some funky angle so it was PITA to make
IMG_3927.JPG

and welded to the back of the mount. should make it strong. hopfully it isnt in the way of the steering box.

so after stoping on the shock mounts. i turned my attention to the floor again. i needed to finish up the center hump.
i took some quick measurments and started cutting. i got the basic shape here.
IMG_3930.JPG

had to make a little step down so it would fit under the seat bars.
IMG_3931.JPG

and here it is sitting in place.
IMG_3933.JPG

and the clearence between the tranny and the new hump section.
IMG_3934.JPG

and the starting of the front part. this was hard. lots of bends and welds to make it fit just right. also cut the holes for the shifters.
IMG_3935.JPG

and a top shot.
IMG_3936.JPG

damn, even after measuring like 30 times i still managed to miss cut the hole. its close, but not perfect. you can also see that i made this into two pieces. as i found after i put the front pieces in, i couldnt take the damn thing out without taking out the cage. so i cut it :D now its easy to remove and will still be strong and sealed.

Awsome work:eek:

angle grinders. i just have three. one has the cutting wheels, one with a sanding disk, and one with a grinding wheel.

Why yes, yes I am a stud :D
Got the ARP upgrade knuckles studs. was going to do all 6 but figured 4 per knuckle along with the two stock ones was enough,. I also got a spindle stud kit, as I always hate trying to align everything up during installs, and trail repairs, and these really help out.

oh, and NO, i am not trying to copy crane with the green s***. i was first at this :D i have an issue with that color as seen here on my DD.

ok, got some work done today
figurd i would finished up this thing. needed to close up that damn hole. so i made a simple plate out of some SS then painted it
IMG_3989.JPG

also got the new flat pitman arm installed. looks like it will work perfect :D
IMG_3990.JPG

i put the fenders, grill and hood on so i could see where things where going to sit. i was tired of redoing things :D so fingured i would get this installed and work around it
made up a front grill mount. since this thing is on a different chassis i needed a spacer to have it sit right.
IMG_3986.JPG

and a close up. just a simple set up. i welded three pieces of tubing to the winch plate (which will be fully welded on later) and a small pice of rec tubing on top. i will also have a piece of rubber on top of this to act as flex zone.

IMG_3987.JPG

and a overall shot :D boy its ppuuurrdy :D
