I'm finishing up the e-locker wiring on my 1989 BJ74

Part of the process was swapping the gauge cluster from 7x with factory cable lockers. There is a pigtail on the back of the cluster with a red/green and red/blue wire, when grounded these turn on the locker lights on the dash. No biggy, I figured I would tap into those from the E-Locker ECU I'm using. When I pulled the old cluster I was surprised to see the pigtail for the locker lights in the stock harness. Not super surprised as I'm sure Toyota made just the single harness.

So, where is the other end of those leads on a factory cable locker truck? I would have assumed near the cable locker handles but perhaps it was all the way at the diff? I need to go crawl under a different truck but was hoping someone might know. Any ideas?

Found the front locker dash switch connection, it's a two-wire plastic plug located near the oil sending unit on the 13BT, it's unused on a non-locked truck but present. Still hunting for the rear.

I think I noticed that when I replaced the oil sender.... I had no idea what it was.

This may help.

Pretty sure the other end of the wires will be at the third members. The lights come on when the axle is engaged rather than when the lever is pulled. That's what I remember from my HJ61, probably the same on a 70.

Crazy thing... I can't find it. I "think" it might be tucked up with the rear harness at the rear seal, I haven't poked around there much. The front was found (see above).

Wow. That is super cool that the wiring is there! And I'm stoked that you are doing an OEM cluster with the OEM diff lock lights!

While it's cool to know it was there, I won't be using it. I cut the harness off behind the dash. The cable lockers get their switch signal right at the locker, the e-locker gets it from the ECU so I'll use the connector and tie it back to the ECU. I'm really stoked about the dash too, compliments your parts nicely!

dude .. so many projects !

Yes, yes... and I make about 5 hours on them ALL each week, so they move sloooow.

The past few weeks have been better for me. The Mrs. has been traveling during the week so I can hang in the shop until midnight tinkering on my projects.

Let me know if it's a bit blurry and I will take a few more photo's. These where from a 1992 manual

No worries, I have a pdf version that has identical wiring albeit slightly different wire colors. Yours was good to confirm with. Thanks again!
