Has anyone one here imported a 70 from Europe? I see plenty of Japanese right handed imports, but I want a left hand version. There are plenty available in Europe. Looking at bringing over a 1988-1991 model. I just want to make sure I don't get hung up with some bureaucratic bs at the border!!

Thanks.

a lot of european ones are trashed to death. very few kept well and price would reflect that. different countries have different rules on exporting an old car. big engines were sold in Holland, otherwise most french, italian or german ones have the 2.4 engine.

italian market has offers, possibly due to emissions restriction now in place.

rarely 3.4 or 4.2 engines show up. mobile.de or autoscout.com are places where you cn have a look, although might be other specialized sites Im not aware of.

Ive seen mint condition 74 around but not so many for sale.

wish you luck!

There are some LHD 70 series diesels (most are gassers though it seems) from South America but many are trashed as well. If you decide to include South America as an option, I can inbox you which importers to avoid from that area but I won't say it on here. If you are importing it yourself, then disregard my offer.

South American trucks will likely not have heaters either. We have examples in the museum that are less heaters. Adding one would be problematic and expensive since most 7x trucks are RHD and the 7x was never sold or supported in the U.S.

In other words used LHD heater components are not plentiful.

Good point. I didn't think of that. Mine does not have a heater but it is not an issue for me personally since I live in South Texas.

Shacking up back in Utah has reminded me how much I appreciate a good heater.:)

I still need to get to Utah one of these days.

I suppose an Canadian BJ70 would be a good donor for heater components? Not something I would do but an option for LHD cruisers?

Correct. Most of the rest of the truck would be rusted away by now in any event :). There were only a few hundred sold in the first place however.

Or your local TX 7X parts dealer ;-)

I only stock in 24v but can get a 12v blower in Europe for ya,boxes and cores are the same between 12 and 24v

There you go :)

I love the fact that we all have tiny attention spans :flipoff2:
My original question was if i can import one from europe. I seem to only see the ones from Oz and Canadia  in the USA. I have already imported a truck from Central America. That went fine because I drove it for 8 months before I shipped it home. I would never buy without seeing a truck in person. I haver family in europe that go inspect a vehicle for me and get it to port as well. Might bring a older G wagon as well.:worms:

Back to European rigs then.:)

The only one I have ever seen in person was a BJ75 troopy and the only thing holding the rust together was the rest of the rust. I took several phots of it and ended up deleting them because they made my eyes bleed.:crybaby:

there will be exceptions too. mine had rust on the back inner wheel arches and very nice repairs on the back panels, such that I didn't even realized it was repaired.

rest of body seems fine.

with an understanding that they are old vehicles and a good amount of cash is needed to change all the aged rubber components (at least), Id say they are cool trucks….:)

Here are a few pics of the vehicle I am looking at. I am aware that it will require difficult to find expensive parts. Itwill not be a daily driver. My brother in law can test drive the vehicle. He laughs usually when I send him the links . He always asks why the old trucks and not the newer versions!! He does not get the unicorn factor. Here in the states.
