That is a "light-duty" LJ71.

Coil springs, smaller axles "softer" front end appearance and a 2.4 2LT engine. That engine is not the most robust.

I was unaware of he LJ series. A quick search here shows a gutless motor that likes to crack heads and drop valves. Not something I want to try to bring back to flip in the states. I see that some of he listing I am looking at say land cruiser I or II. They all seem to be 1988-91 era. Does anyone know the difference? I will have to search for a BJ version. Or import something else all together:(

A "B" "H" "F" or "P" would be the "heavy duty" variants.

If your vehicle is more than 25 years old, it can come into the States.
There is form from NAtional Highway Traffic Safety Agency. There is a box that you check off stating your vehicle is old.
There is a similar form from the EPA.

Chris Spaulding has been getting cruisers from Spain and/ or islands undrer Spanish gov't.

I'm always suspicious, highly suspicious actually, of any vehicle that has the lower panels blacked out. No one does that for fun or to make them look pretty. Nearly always a rust problem.

IMO, the most rust resistant 7* series is the mid wheel base with the FRP top.
This because they have far less metal with an FRP top and you can change the fold down windscreen.
It doesn't make them a whole lot better, but its an advantage.

The MWB is probably the best handling on road and at least an equal offroad with the SWB.
You also get a hefty amount of storage space.
