Trying to find the two OEM rear speakers for the 70 series more specifically 73-74 series ZX version.

I doubt those are OEM. I’d imagine OEM would be behind with just sound vents. Is there no brand markings?

Very interesting. New one to me. Cool.

Just pulled one of my 89 FJ62's rear speakers out today and it is just like this right down to the angle on the tweeter in the center. Not selling mine but probably going to replace them with some 6.5" speakers which are actually larger than the stock speakers. These are only rated for 15 watts.

Could you send me some photos of your speakers?

Here are few I have already. Tell what you want pictures of and I can send them in a message or post them here.

I ended up buying some cheap 6" speakers that fit the housings. Working on upgrading the amplifier and don't want damage expensive speakers in the process. Amazon shows some Rockford Fosgate 6" speakers that fit my 89 FJ62. The ones I'm using fit with no mods. The screen is loose between the housing and the grill.

Thanks for whole the info and the pictures. I'm wondering if you sell them I've been looking for them like 6 years ago

I'm reusing everything but the speaker itself. I found 6" speakers that required no mods to the rest of the housing. I'm keeping the original speakers to go with the original radio/cassette player I removed for one with a CD player about twenty five years ago. I doubt if you started looking for rear speakers from a FJ62 it would take another six years to find a set. I see FJ62s being parted out regularly. 70 series on the other hand rarely find those being parted. Especially your particular model.

Well I'm going to continue with my searching now I know the 60 series has the same rear speakers. In fact I'm doing the same with my 73 series the whole sound system original

Is this the replacement radio?

I am using a head unit that was used on 2000 LC and 2001/2002 non navigation. Also used on the Tundra and possible other Toyota around that time.

Picked a number of these up years ago when they were just about giving them away. One included the 2000/2001/2002 amplifier. Everything thing I bought has been premium audio with external amplifiers. Pretty sure by the cooling fins cast into yours it has an internal amplifier and uses the standard two plugs? Those plugs started on 1987 models and were phased out around 2000. LCs were one of the first to change. The plug from the amplifier to head switched around this time and then quickly were no longer standard with navigation and steering wheel controls.
