I have done the MUD search thing and come up dry.

Looking to add an OEM altimeter / temp pod to the dash of my 73. Have the nacelle and trim pad in hand, need guts and sensors.

The core unit is shown as available in the Motherland but sensors are on backorder and about to be discontinued.

I understand the early Prado units are interchangeable, possibly Surf/4Runner as well. Can anyone help with their experience?

Thanks!

Hi Ward,

I have the sensors for the temp pod that I bought from Sheldon @70sguy. I am not going to wire the temp sensors on my pod as I will want to switch it to a factory inclinometer when I can find one of those. You are welcome to the sensors and wiring as I am 100% sure I will not use them. I believe that they came off a 24V BJ74.

Let me know if you want them

Was going to offer the same. I have the altimeter and temp guts (24V) that you can have. I'm going to put aftermarket gauges in that location (pyro, oil pressure, etc).
Let me know what you want/need.

Guys - your generosity is most appreciated but the Burrito is getting converted to 12 volts so I think I am unable to take advantage of the offers.

Unless someone has a magic voltage booster adaptor idea....

Regarding the the temp pod, I went to electronics parts place and got some generic sensors for a $1 each, easier than expected to find correct ones, just bench tested to ensure temps were reading correctly and proceeded to install, let me know if you need guidance .
Cheers

My temp gauges read "E" 75% of the time. The other 25% of the time they report that Montana's climate has warmed to Sub-saharan temps.

Hello,

Looks like the temperature gauge was intended for milder climates...
