Awesome stuff!

Maybe I missed something, but who makes this particular kit?

Also, I notice that it includes a turbo+manifold. If this was already a 1HD-T then why the need for those parts or the new aluminum elbow between the air "box" and the turbo? I'm really interested in everything post-turbo, though. This might be a better answer (but much more expen$ive) than my plan to use a 7M-GTE factory IC for a home-made kit on my 81...

Cheers to a good job!

Looks like both a Denco turbo kit for a 1HZ engine and a Denco water to air IC.

Thanks, wish it were mine and yes it is a little diesel bullet.....

Your Cruiser rocks .. ! locked and intercooled .. a bullet !

Denco is the brand.

1hz non turbo engine.

Back from the dead with vengeance!

Do you think you would have to do the same mods for the intercooler rad on a 77 john?

Yup, same set up.

Patience Grasshopper, patience...

~John

I'd better order another inter-cooler...

I am still tossing up the idea if I even want to turbo and intercool it. Its a bit of a financial situation to see where I stand once I find and buy the truck. I am expecting new tires, OME lift and an an arb bumper. I have an 8274 given to my by my dad. I would still have to convert that to 24volt....

I still don't know if I can justify turboing and intercooling it.
If anything I would turbo it first and go from there...

Is it a big job making the rad fit?

Not a inexpensive purchase, it works and works well...

The 1hz is a really nice engine and seems to do well with this combo.

I did this install before John purchased my company and all I can say is the instructions are vague at best, with this thread and pictures you can cut the time in half.

You don't need to convert the 12v winch to 24v, just run it at 24v and enjoy, there - just saved you 300 bucks. Twice the power and twice the speed.

You will like the turbo alot, its so much more fun and the intercooler is just special......:p

I drove a FJ45 with 1hz turbo many moons ago to pismo beach, took something like 18 hours. The engine and turbo were so much fun and so much power in some what a light truck.

I like the way the 1hz lugs down for crawling then performs so well on the highway, all said and done its probably my most favourite package.

I am very tempted. I will see how much money I have once I have to do my order from radd.
I miss my 81 so freaking much right now:crybaby: Not having my own vehicle sucks.

Yeah, sorry about causing that sale... the new owners called from Smithers or some such place and remarked at just how nice the truck was and how well it drove.

You'll be into a nice 77 soon enough, just keep your eyes on those listings!!

I'm glad. I hope that they will love the truck as much as I did.
Shes been a real peach to me.

Worked great at low speeds with the pull of the factory fan moving air quite well.

You could add a little pusher fan, might help a little.
