69 FJ40 - expert opinion

I'm by no means an expert on FJ40 values so wanted to get more of an experts opinion about this rig I'm looking at purchasing:

It's the year, color I'm looking for and completly original which is what I'm looking for as well but the price seems crazy high to me.
Thoughts on this one?

Priced way too high for that year. $ 6-8K rig if that is original paint and the mechanicals are good.

thanks for the feedback and that's what I was thinking... $8k max. Talked to the owner and he's pretty firm on the price, so I'll watch it and see if he drops his price to a more realistic number. thanks again

I think it is high but not as high as the other posters think. Finding a 40 in that condition in GA is much much harder than CO or NV.

Seems a little high to me. I have a very correct '66 for sale with similar mileage with new paint, new upholstery, and brand new BGFs for close to the same price (plus roof rack, brush guard, etc). Here's the link for comparison purposes:

And yeah, you see many around here with diamondplate EVERYTHING covering up the rust.

All Depends

Some take a lot of $$$ to get them in the condition of those two rigs. All depends if you want to pay up front for a nice truck or spend it later trying to get it to that condition.
