For Sale 1965 FJ40 Land Cruiser, with all the charm of these early vehicles plus the unique features of the 64-65 models with windshield vent, corrugated dash/top. Located in Bend, OR 97703, asking $22,500 not interested in trades unless partial for 200series.
Actual mileage unknown, 350 SBC engine, 3-speed transmission and transfer case converted to floor shifters.
This vehicle had been painted with single stage Toyota Red paint before purchase and then we embarked on a frame off rebuild in 2008. Lots of work done to clean up and apply tasteful upgrades:
-Frame and underbody painted with POR-15
-All wiring replaced with custom harness, new fuse box with relays, and waterproof connectors following factory wiring diagram/harness connections.
-Engine is a 350SBC with Holley 600CFM double pumper and manual choke, HEI ignition. Ram horn manifolds, clutch fan with custom shroud.
-Transmission and transfer case were rebuilt/resealed
-Power brakes, new lines, rebuilt wheel cylinders, new pads
-Parking brake rebuilt, new pads, seal to transfer case.
-Power steering (minitruck) and new tie-rod ends
-Bilstein 5100 shocks front & rear
-12V onboard air with chuck at rear spare tire swingout.
-Front and Rear axle replaced with '71 birfield axles and 10mm brake line fittings, rebuilt knuckles, hubs and resealed
-Metaltech OEM style roll bar stretched to fit long rear jump seats.
-31x10.5x15" Nexen MT on 80's aluminum rims.
Included with sale is the factory hard top currently stored indoors (I only drive this in the summer and prefer the top removed). The factory top is the correct corrugated version with rear bi-fold door for this model year and painted to match. This vehicle is super fun to drive, very reliable and gets comments and thumbs up every where we go. Cruises just fine on the highway, steering and suspension are dialed and provides confident driving experiences, occasional camping trip or fire road, but mostly just a daily driver during the summer months over the last 18years I've had it.
Everything works with the exception of the speedometer/odometer, ammeter was bypassed with new wiring, and P/S wiper motor. Paint condition is good overall with some chips and a few small areas where rust has bubbled underneath and where the gas fill is located.
Happy to answer questions for serious buyers, if the ad is up it is available.
