I’ve been on this forum for about 5 years. I’ve owned my 89, 62 the whole time. I’ve always wanted to restore it and I’m just now getting to it. I’ve got All Terrain Mechanical in Paint Lick, KY helping me cut some rust out and weld in some patch panels for the rear wheel arches that I got from Cruiser Corps. That’s where I’m at right now. Next will be some more body work and then new paint. Gotta protect my outside from the elements and then I’ll move on to the next projects.

Patch panels turned out really nice. All Terrain Mechanical in Paint Lick, KY did a fine job. Also did a 3” OME suspension and 33 10.5 BFGs. Next up is the back hatch and gate. I sourced a couple from Jason at Cruiser Yard down in Texas. These will be an improvement over mine. They’ll take a little work but my old ones were really eaten through. After I swap out the back then I’m gonna do a WoolWax application on the frame. Frame is in good shape and I’m gonna keep it that way.

Make sure to coat the inside of the frame... They rust from the inside out....once a year woolwax or fluid film and it'll last forever

Update: Sourced this lower and upper hatch from Jason at Cruiser Yard in Texas. Big upgrade from what I had. Next stop body shop.

Lots of good work so far. Keep that old lower tailgate - it can likely be fixed down the road. Perhaps the upper tailgate, too.

I think you can straighten that tilted end of the front bumper a lot, if not 100%. You might get it to look close enough to perfect not to fret about it. You will have to get creative with a hydraulic press, and or straps and chains to pull it back.
