62 alternator - best source / deal

The Mean Green FJ62 alt takes 3-4 weeks to get in too. I'd heard they make them singly off your order.

Do you have any good electrical repair shops in your town? I had good luck with one locally and got a very clean looking alt back when I had them rebuild mine... twt.

You've hit the problem on the head- there are TONS OF FJ60(2F) compatible alternators out there BUT NO FJ62(3FE) compatibles other than Mean Green and hopefully this AutoZone unit. Hope that was clear enough for everyone. ;p

I took my alternator to a local guy that just rebuild starters and alternator like over 10 years ago when it went out. He totally rebuilt it and have not had no problems with it.. knock on wood. He charged me like $25. If you are looking for something to get by that might work.

If it dies again soon I would probaly go with a Toyota rebuilt one from dealership.

I'm with the just have it rebuilt group. Just got my 60 but I had my grey yota alt rebuilt and it worked great. Plus it was only $50.
