Anyone know if there is going to be a 60 Anniv Edition 200 for the US market ?? I noticed on the Australian Toyota website that they are getting one..... :hhmm:

I saw same info in the Au site .. more internal fancy stuff I was expecting something like SC or more powa at wheels .. factory winch or well ..

back on the gorund those fancy interior stuff it's what the common folks out there like ..

what is the Au website address? I would like to take a look.

I compared the Collectors and Sahara and the Collectors is 25kg lighter!

Plus it supposedly doesn't come with some airbags, dvd stuff, and a a few other "luxury" type stuff like Rear AC etc. :meh:

hum ..... the AU Anniversary Special Edition is actually less fancy than our US model?

So the 40th anniversary edition was on the 1997 80 series and we're already to 60. Can Toyota count? I do see that the first ones sold were in 1951, but dont really get what they were doing in 1997???

I think it is 60 years of Toyota and not Land Cruiser .

And it applies only to Austraila and some other non us markets.

No, it's all Land Cruiser Anniversaries, not all of Toyota. 1997 marked 40th year in the US.
The rest of the world celebrated the 50th Anniversary in 2001 (100 series).

I heard it was a twin turbo diesel 6 speed manual with 3 locking diffs, factory winch and factory snorkel for the US market. ;<)

(Just kidding.)

You took the words right out of my mouth flyfish.

Here in Saudi Arabia the 60th anniversary model was mostly badges and trim bits on an otherwise fully loaded VX-R model. Little badge on the rear pillar and the scuff plates on the front sills said "60th Anniversary" instead of the standard "Landcruiser". Also the floor mats look a bit different, duh!
More importantly the 5.7L V8 with 6 speed auto box was introduced for the LC with this model, up to now this engine was only sold in the Lexus. Without the badges with the new engine the model is called VXR2
