Hey I know there a ton of you that are around this area.
I need a Good (read that great) Fj-60 mechanic. I will Never use Mid City again  Paid almost $200 for a heating problem diagnostic. my 60 has read hot since I bought it & I knew it was not running hot (fluke 51 read 206). They removed the T-stat & that was not bad & told me to replace it WTF. They then told me that the gauge was bad. The gauge was fine. It was the temprature sender that was failing. I didn't have the time to diagnose these myself but from that experience, I know that I am not taking my rig there for anything again.
My 60 needs a smog pretest the P.O. illegally smogged it (blown kead gaskets don't pass emissions) and I need to get the A/C checked out & working).
I'm a DYI guy but I have no time right now (80 hour work weeks lately:eek: ). Have to R&R my nissan's gearbox & replace the front seal in my Dodge & recharge the AC in that. I'm looking for a good shop that ain't gonna rip me off and give me a good diagnostic & possibly some $$ for service work.
Thanks in Advance,
Nor-Cal Dave.

There is a sticky thread up top with info on mechs that people recommend. Might be one on that list.

I do know that Gary at Mudrak is awesome. If you can get your truck there - he is fair, honest, and really knows cruisers.

I did read the sticky and isn't anything north of Sonoma which for us here is a really long trip away About 5 hours of driving.
We're kind of in a isolated area here on the Lost coast.
Dave.
