OME heavy suspension (rear air bags coming soon)
Noted this after my previous post. Curious about what you're carrying so you need more than OME heavies. I recently removed airbags (that I used with a medium setup) that I used for towing a trailer. The airbags, at least in the '60, were more trouble than they were worth because they decreased suspension travel (particularly compression) in a setup that doesn't start with very much to start with. I realized that my trailer really doesn't cause enough suspension sag with the OME mediums to warrant the trouble. If I need more carrying capacity, I would think about going with the new OME dual stage springs.

My rig comes in at #6700 fully loaded. That's with 38 gallons of fuel, sleeping and drawer build out, 10 gallons of water, 10# of propane, ARB Fridge and roof top tent. Not over capacity for the truck itself but it's just about sitting fully on the leaf pack, which are cs005ra/B springs, which is the heaviest spring OME makes for the FJ60 that I'm aware of.

There are 2 styles of Air Bags, the common ones you'll see on Semi Rigs which would prohibit suspension travel (compression) and another style where the Air Bag goes inside itself and you get full travel. I'm not a pro on Air Bags, this is just over arching info I have from talking with Tor. I'm sure you could hit him up for more info

Long and short of it is that I'll be able to add air bags without sacrificing suspension travel too much either direction with a benefit of leveling out the truck independently on each side

You visited my work at MailChimp but I didn't get to meet you, bummer because we could have chatted about our red cruisers! I think I may have been sick that day.

Howdy!

I'm new at this - hope it works. Bought this HJ60 from someone on eBay. Thought it was a bargain. Probably wrong.

1986

after market turbo

3" lift (too high in my opinion)

Dual batteries, dual tanks, 5sp, radio (with a remote no less! Crikey!)

33" wranglers at the mo, although in the photo they are 33" x 12.5" bfg all terrains.

Had the rust cut out and welded up, resprayed...

Happy days!

Nice rig! Question, Were did you get that bumper? I am friends with one of the designers at Expo One and have been trying to get him to make me one. Unfortunately he cant find the CAD files so he would have to completely redesign it and they are not focusing on anything but new vehicles...

Hey Oaks,

A while back when PO had it, Expo One did a trial run of three new bumpers they posted in the 60's section. He managed to grab the only one that had a single hoop. I'm glad he did-- killer bumper and surpasses ARB's standards. Hope your friend finds the CAD's!
