60 series deisel wanted

looking for 60 series diesel in decent shape, importable to WA. state looking to spend up to $8k U.S. What motor and voltage is the best ? I have a rustfree 84 fj60 gas, is a diesel conversion costly? or buy different cruiser? Thanks for any input.

best bet is to post (search first!) the 60/62 series tech board for diesel swap info, and the international tech board for toyota diesel info. but you're in the right place for the wanted part of it FYI

"almost" all canadian wagons are rusty!

if you have a clean rig, just get a s***ty old bj60 or hj60 and swap all the goodness over to your clean wagon.

the vancouver buy and sell is a good place to start looking, and if you lurk a little in the int'n section, you'll find a few that sell trucks/parts.

all canadian bj60's are 12v, and after 84' have a 5spd and power steering. all canadian hj60's are 24v and have power steering with an A440 auto or a 5spd.

just remembered that "25 year" rule for importing to the us. may want to search "everything i learned about importing" great thread and good info.
